Wayne State falls to Minot State 2-1 on the road to suffer first loss of the season in the Northern Sun Conference women's soccer Sunday afternoon in Minot, North Dakota. The Wildcats are now 4-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in league play while the Beavers move to 3-1-0 and 2-0-0 in the NSIC.
The game was scoreless through the first half with each team having three shots apiece.
Early in the second half, the Beavers struck first with a top shelf goal at the 49:35 mark by Ninfa Ramirez assisted by Ashley Franco. Ramirez then found the back of the net again after slipping past the defense midway through the second half with the assist coming from Ashley Hunter.
Wayne State got on the board in the 82
nd minute after Minot surrendered an own goal.
The Beavers finished the match with a 10-4 advantage in shots and 7-2 in shots on goal. Minot also held a 7-0 advantage in corners while the Wildcats committed 11 fouls and the Beavers five.
