#9 Wayne State recorded 15 service aces, one shy of single game school record, while holding Minot State to a -.128 attack percentage to sweep the Beavers 25-10, 25-6 and 25-13 in Northern Sun Conference volleyball played Friday evening at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. The host Wildcats move to 11-3 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC while Minot State falls to 5-10 and 0-6 in league play.
The Wildcats set the tone in the first set with six blocks, forcing 13 Minot State attack errors to win the set 25-10.
Wayne State's serve caught fire in the second set, recording six service aces, to take control of the second set for a 25-6 win.
The third set saw WSC record nine kills without an attack error while serving up six more aces to complete the sweep with a 25-13 victory.
Wayne State finished the match hitting .317 with 27 kills, seven errors and 63 attacks while MISU hit -.128 with 16 kills, 26 attack errors and 78 attempts.

Michaela Mestl led WSC with eight kills followed by
Mariah Halvorsen with six and
Alyssa Frauendorfer five. Sophomore
Bree Ackermann served up six aces to lead Wayne State followed by Mestl with four and
Haley Kauth three. Kauth led the 'Cats with 14 digs while sophomore setter
Megan Gebhardt had 21 set assists.
The Wildcats will be at home again Saturday afternoon hosting the University of Mary in a 2 p.m. match at Rice Auditorium.
