#11 Minnesota State scored three goals in three minutes near the 70-minute mark to break open a close contest as the Maverick pulled away for a 4-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer win Friday afternoon over Wayne State College at Bob Cunningham Field in Wayne. MSU is now 9-1-1 and 7-0-1 in the league while WSC drops to 3-4-4 overall and 2-3-3 in the NSIC.
WSC battled Minnesota State tough in the first half despite being outshot 8-2. The Mavericks struck for the first goal at the 29:55 mark for a 1-0 lead at intermission.
The score remained 1-0 until Minnesota State scored three goals in three minutes to take control of the game. The first goal came at 68:49 with another following 63 seconds later. The third goal came at the 71:50 mark to give MSU a commanding 4-0 lead over the Wildcats.
Minnesota State finished with a 19-5 advantage in shots including 8-3 in shots on goal. The Mavericks held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks on WSC while both teams were called for eight fouls.

Sydney Rogers played the final 18 minutes and recorded two saves.
The Wildcats will be on the road Sunday afternoon for a 1 p.m. NSIC contest at Concordia-St. Paul.
