The Wayne State College volleyball team, ranked 17th in this week's AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll with a 5-3 record, open NSIC play this week with a home game Thursday evening against Sioux Falls at 6 p.m. (please note earlier start time than previous years) followed by a Saturday afternoon road match at #1 Southwest Minnesota State at 2 p.m.  The Wildcats are coming off a 2-2 weekend at the Steel and Silver Classic in Colorado while USF is off to a 5-0 start, but saw last weekend's scheduled tournament in Tampa, Florida cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.  SMSU is 8-0 following four impressive wins at the Colorado Premier Challenge that included a 3-1 triumph over previous #1 and defending national champion Concordia-St. Paul.
