#1 Southwest Minnesota State posted a .347 attack percentage with 11 service aces to take down #17 Wayne State 25-16, 25-13, 25-15 Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Conference volleyball played at the PE Gym in Marshall, Minnesota. The host Mustangs are now 10-0 and 2-0 in the NSIC while WSC slips to 6-4 and 1-1 in league play.
The Mustangs never trailed in the first set, limiting the Wildcats to just six kills in a 25-16 set win.
SMSU hit a sizzling .484 in the second set with 17 kills to post a 25-13 set win.
Southwest Minnesota State closed out the match with five aces in the third set to complete the sweep for a 25-15 set win.
SMSU hit .347 for the match while holding WSC to .079. The Mustangs held a 7-2 edge in blocks and 11-3 in service aces over the Wildcats.
