#22 Wildcats force 25 attack errors in sweep of Bemidji State

            #22 Wayne State College forced 25 Bemidji State attack errors while holding the Beavers to a -.032 attack percentage as the Wildcats cruised to a 25-15, 25-11, 25-12 Northern Sun Conference volleyball win Saturday afternoon at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.  The Wildcats are now 10-6 on the year and 4-3 in league play while dropping BSU to 3-12 and 0-7 in the NSIC.
            The Wildcats forced BSU into 10 attack errors (six blocks) in the first set and posted a 25-15 victory.  Redshirt freshman Jaci Brahmer had a team-high four kills and three blocks to lead a balanced WSC attack in the first set.
            WSC continued their efficient play in the second set, accounting for 14 kills while creating another eight attack errors on the Beavers, as the Wildcats rolled to a 25-11 win.  Brahmer, Erin Gross and Katie Stephens each had four kills for the 'Cats.
            Wayne State recorded a .500 attack percentage in the third set and had four service aces to finish the Beavers with a 25-12 win to complete the sweep.  Gross had six kills on just seven attempts to pace WSC as Bree Ackermann and Maddie Duffy each added two service aces.
            The Wildcats finished the match with a .323 attack percentage, recording 41 kills and just nine errors on 99 attacks.  Bemidji State was held to a -.032 attack percentage with 22 kills and 25 errors on 95 attempts.
            WSC held a 46-40 edge in digs and 12-5 in blocks over the Beavers while recording six service aces, two more than BSU.
            Gross led WSC in hitting with 13 kills and a .393 attack percentage.  Brahmer added nine kills with Stephens producing eight.  Brahmer had a team-high six blocks with Tarrin Beller adding four.
            Stephens accounted for a team-high 10 digs while junior setter Megan Gebhardt was credited with 32 set assists.  Ackermann had three of Wayne State's six service aces with Duffy adding two.
            Wayne State will be on the road next weekend for NSIC contests at the University of Mary Friday night at 6 p.m. and Minot State Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. contest.
