NSIC All-Conference Women's Basketball Team Release
Wayne State College sophomore forward
Erin Norling was voted to the 2019 NSIC All-Conference Women's Basketball First Team announced Thursday morning by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Norling, a 5-11 sophomore forward from Loretto, Minnesota (Delano HS), led Wayne State in scoring this season averaging 15.2 points per game to go with 5.5 rebounds a contest. She ranked eighth in the NSIC in scoring, third in minutes played per game (34.3), tied for eighth in steals per game (1.7), 14
th in assists (2.8) and 15
th in free throw percentage (.783/101-129).
Norling recorded double figures in 27 of 29 games this season and had three double-doubles. She scored a season-high 21 points vs. Northwest Missouri State (11/9/18), produced 16 point, 10 rebound double-doubles vs. Truman State (11/16/18) and vs. Minnesota State (1/26/19) and had 14 points and 10 rebounds vs. Southwest Minnesota State (2/22/19).
In NSIC games (22) this season, Norling accounted for 15.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest, recording 10 or more points in 21 of 22 games during conference play.
Wayne State is 15-14 on the season following Wednesday night's 54-52 NSIC/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament win at the University of Mary. The Wildcats now face Sioux Falls Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament quarterfinals at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.
