The Wayne State College baseball team faces Minot State in the opening round of the 2019 Northern Sun Conference Baseball Tournament in St. Cloud, Minnesota Thursday (May 9) at 2:30 p.m. It's the second time in three years that the two teams have met in the #4/#5 seed first round matchup with WSC (#4 seed in 2017) winning 5-2 over the Beavers in the 2017 first round encounter. Both teams enter the double-elimination NSIC Tournament with records of 32-16 overall. Minot State was fourth in the league this year at 24-10 with WSC fifth at 23-12. The two teams met in Minot on April 10 with both games going extra innings. MISU won the opener 6-3 in 10 innings with WSC taking the second game 1-0 in eighth innings on a cold day (30 degrees with feel like of 20/21) in Minot.
