The Wayne State College women's basketball team was named to the WBCA 2018-19 Top 25 Team Honor Roll announced Tuesday afternoon by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association office in Atlanta, Georgia.  It's the second straight season and seventh time overall that the Wildcats earned the academic honor, ranking 12th in NCAA Division II with a team cumulative grade point average of 3.649 during the 2018-19 year.
            The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III schools along with NAIA and junior colleges inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.  This is the 24th year in which WBCA has compiled the team academic honor rolls.
            Wayne State was one of just three schools from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to earn the award.             
            Wayne State College is an NCAA Division II school located in Wayne, Nebraska and competes in the 16-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.  The Wildcats were 15-15 in the 2018-19 season and placed sixth in the NSIC South Division with a 9-13 league mark.
