Wayne State hosts Southwest Minnesota State in the 2019 home opener for the Wildcat football team Saturday night at Bob Cunningham Field in Wayne with kickoff set for 6 p.m.  The Family Day game will conclude with a fireworks display.  Both teams are coming off losses in their openers last week as the Wildcats dropped a 37-20 contest at Winona State while the Mustangs battled #3 Minnesota State before falling late 38-23.  WSC owns a 22-8 lead in the all-time series against SMSU and has won the last three meetings that include a 23-14 win in Marshall last season.
