Wayne State opens the 2019 college football season Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. contest at Winona State.  The host Warriors are coming off an 8-3 season in 2018 (5-2 NSIC South) while WSC was 3-8 and 2-5 in divisional play.  Winona State was picked fourth in the 2019 Preseason NSIC Coaches Poll with the Wildcats coming in 13th.  WSU enjoys a 19-4 lead in the all-time series against Wayne State and has won the last four meetings against the Wildcats that included a 41-28 victory in Wayne in last year's season opener.
