A four-run first inning got William Jewell off to a quick start, leading the Cardinals to an 11-0 win in five innings over Wayne State Saturday afternoon at the Drury Invitational in Springfield, Missouri. WSC slips to 5-8 while William Jewell is now 7-5 after the win.
William Jewell opened the contest with a four-run first inning on four hits.
The game remained 4-0 until the fourth when the Cardinals scored three more runs for a 7-0 lead and added four more in the fifth for the 11-0 win.
Wayne State was held in check during the contest recording just three hits, all singles, by
Kortney Buresh,
Clare Reinhart and
Ashley Hernandez.

Makenna Adkison (0-1) was tagged with the pitching loss, allowing seven runs in four innings of work. Redshirt freshman
Ashley Bohannon worked 1/3 of an inning with
Maddie Moser pitching the final 2/3 innings.
Wayne State will play another game Saturday afternoon against William Jewell College at the Drury Invitational.
