#1 Wayne State volleyball team defeated Minnesota Crookston in three sets 25-8, 25-10, 25-10, Saturday afternoon inside of Rice Auditorium. The Wildcats move to 18-0 on the season and 8-0 in the NSIC while the Golden Eagles fall to 2-14 on the season and 1-7 in the NSIC.
    Wayne State would score the first six points of the set behind pairs of kills from
Kelsie Cada and
Maggie Brahmer. The Wildcats would use an ace serve from
Rachel Walker to force Minnesota Crookston to use their first timeout at 8-1. Later in the set blocks from Walker and Cada would force the Golden Eagles to take their second timeout at 17-5 in favor of the Wildcats. Wayne State would end the set on an 8-3 run to win the first set at 25-8. Cada and
Taya Beller would both have three kills to lead the 'Cats in the first set. Cada would also lead the team in digs with three.

    The Wildcats would score the first ten points of set two behind three kills from Beller and two from Cada. A pair of kills from Beller later on in the set would build the Wildcat lead to 17-6 in the middle part of the second set. The set would end with Wayne State scoring the final three points with a block from Cada and Brahmer along with each of them getting a kill. Wayne State would defeat Minnesota Crookston in set two 25-10. Beller led the 'Cats with eight kills followed by Cada with five. Cada would lead the team in digs with four in the set. Cada and Beller would also each have three blocks.

    Brahmer would have two kills to open up the second set with helping the Wildcats jump out to a 4-0 lead. Baylor Bunjer would have back to back kills in the middle of the set to make the score 11-3. Wayne State would continue to build the lead making it 17-6 behind an ace serve from
Elly Larson. Wayne State would score the final two points of the set behind two attack errors from the Golden Eagles and a block from Bunjer and
Isabelle Vacek to win the set 25-10. Bunjer and Brahmer would lead the wildcats with three kills in the set.
Jessie Brandl would have three digs to lead the 'Cats in the final set.

    In the win, the Wildcats would have a .549 attacking percentage, post ten blocks, and have nine service aces.
Taya Beller would lead the 'Cats in kills with 12 followed by Cada and Brahmer with ten each. Cada would also lead the team in digs with nine followed by Brandl and
Havyn Heinz with five each. Cada and Beller would also each have three blocks in the win for the Wildcats.
Jordan McCormick would also have two service aces for the Wildcats.
