St. Cloud State Completes Weekend Sweep Over WSC 10-0

St. Cloud State 10 Wayne State 0 (8 inn.)

             St. Cloud State completed the three-game sweep over the Wildcats Sunday afternoon with a 10-0 win in NSIC conference baseball action at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex in Wayne. WSC falls to 11-10 overall and 5-3 in conference play while the Huskies improve to 13-9 and 5-3 in NSIC action.
            After a scoreless first the visiting Huskies put up four runs in the second and third innings, followed by a one-run fourth for a 9-0 lead.
            Wayne State got in the hit column with a two-out single from Nick Barnett in the bottom of the second before being stranded on base. In the third inning, senior outfielder Alex Logelin laced a ball down the left field line for a double increasing his All-Time career leading doubles at WSC (59).
            The Huskies put up another run in the top of the eighth for a final of 10-0 (eight innings).
            Logelin had two hits for the Wildcats to go with a stolen base to lead the 'Cats offense. Noah Roberts reached base twice with two walks in the contest.
            The Huskies outhit the Wildcats 12-5 in the game while WSC committed four errors in the outing and SCSU had none.
            Jackson Shelburne (2-3) took the loss while St. Cloud State's Fabian Villegas (1-0) received the win.
            The Wildcats continue their NSIC home stand hosting Minot State in a doubleheader Tuesday, March 29 starting at 12 p.m.
