Sioux Falls 4 Wayne State 3
Sioux Falls scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, handing Wayne State a third straight one-run defeat with a 4-3 victory over the Wildcats Sunday afternoon in Brandon, South Dakota at First National Bank Field Sunday. USF improves to 24-19 and 16-12 in the NSIC while WSC drops to 16-20 and 10-12 in league play.
The host Cougars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on Wildcat starter
Brody Sintek, producing four hits and two runs.
WSC got one run back in the top of the third on a solo homer from
Conner Fiene over the left field fence to open the frame, cutting the Cougar lead to 2-1.
The score remained 2-1 until the top of the eighth when WSC scored two runs on a wild play to grab a 3-2 lead.
