The Wayne State College soccer team battled Northwestern Oklahoma State to a 2-2 tie in non-conference women's soccer played Thursday evening in Alva, Oklahoma. The Wildcats are now 0-1-1 on the season while the host Rangers are now 2-0-1.
Host Northwestern Oklahoma State opened the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Wayne State answered immediately at
Abby Sutton notched the first Wildcat goal to even the score at 1-1.
Freshman forward
Reagan Allen put the 'Cats in front 2-1 midway through the first half with an unassisted goal at the 26:23 mark.
Just over two minutes into the second half, the host Rangers got a goal from Tiara Campbell to even the score at 2-2 and neither team scored the rest of the way as the contest ended in a 2-2 tie.
Host Northwestern Oklahoma State held an 18-6 edge in shots including 9-3 in shots on goal.
Allen had three shots and one goal to lead WSC offensively followed by Sutton with one goal.
Riann Daas and Sutton also had shots for the Wildcats.
Junior goalkeeper
Sidney Truman played all 90 minutes in net for the Wildcats and was credited with seven saves while allowing two goals in the non-conference tie.
The Wildcats will visit Fort Hays State Saturday at 12 p.m. for a non-conference contest.
