#15 Wayne State College never trailed in completing a lengthy road trip Monday afternoon with a 25-11 25-13, 25-10 non-conference volleyball win at Chadron State. The Wildcats improve to 9-0 on the year while the host Eagles drop to 2-6.
The 'Cats came out swinging in the opening set, posting 17 kills and a .368 hitting percentage. WSC took early leads of 12-6 and 18-9 and cruised to the 25-11 first set win.
Maggie Brahmer had six kills on 10 attacks while
Taya Beller added five kills on seven attempts to pace WSC.
WSC continued their strong hitting the second set posting 15 kills and just two errors for a .371 percentage in rolling to a 25-13 set win. Beller had six kills on seven swings followed by Brahmer with five kills on eight attacks.
The third set was close early with four ties until WSC scored 12 of the next 13 points for a commanding 19-7 lead as the Wildcats closed the match with a 25-10 third set win. WSC held Chadron State to just five kills while forcing seven errors with Beller capping a great match with five more kills on seven attacks to lead the Wildcats.
Wayne State finished the contest hitting .343 with 44 kills and just seven attack errors on 108 attempts. Chadron State was limited to a .039 percentage with 20 kills, 16 errors and 102 attacks. The 'Cats held a 59-48 edge in digs, 4-1 in service aces and 4-2 in blocks.
Beller led WSC at the net with 16 kills and a .714 hitting percentage. She also had three blocks. Brahmer added 12 kills with a .571 hitting percentage.

Wayne State opens Northern Sun Conference play Friday evening hosting #6 Concordia-St. Paul at 6 p.m. in Rice Auditorium. .
