The #1 ranked Wayne State Volleyball team hits the road Thursday when they travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on the Vikings of Augustana University at 6 p.m. at the Elmen Center. The Vikings are 7-9 on the season with a 4-4 record in the NSIC. Last week, AU went 2-1 first falling to #8 Southwest Minnesota State 3-1 (27-29, 25-20, 16-25, 24-26). Then they went 2-0 on the weekend first defeating Minnesota-Crookston 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-18) and Bemidji State 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17). The last time WSC met AU was in the first round of the NSIC Tournament last season when AU picked up the 3-2 win over the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will then return home on Saturday when they face Minnesota State inside of Rice Auditorium at 3 p.m. The Mavericks are 9-7 on the season with a 4-4 record in the NSIC. Last week, MSU recored a pair of sweeps first against MSU Moorhead (25-22, 25-19, 25-20) and second against Northern State (25-22, 25-22, 25-17). Last Season WSC defeated the Mavericks twice first in Wayne 3-0, and the second in Mankato 3-1.

Last Weekend the Wildcats went 3-0 on the week picking up wins over RV-Winona State 3-1 (25-19, 26-24, 21-25, 25-18), Bemidji State 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-18), and Minnesota-Crookston 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-12).
