Hayden Wallace was named the Northern Sun Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week announced Monday afternoon by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota following her performance in last Thursday's 1-0 win over Concordia-St. Paul.
Wallace, a fifth-year senior from Glendale, Arizona (Grand Canyon Univ. / Deer Valley HS), recorded seven saves in last Thursday's 1-0 win over Concordia-St. Paul. She faced eight corner kicks in the contest from a Concordia-St. Paul team that out-shot the Wildcats 17-2 in the contest.
It was the fourth shutout of the season for Wallace, who has a 5-4-2 record with a 0.95 goals against average. She ranks third in the NSIC in save percentage (.851), fourth in saves (57), sixth in goals against average (0.95) and tied for sixth in shutouts with four.
Wayne State is 5-4-2 on the season and tied for fifth place in the NSIC with 11 points at 3-2-2 in the league. The Wildcats host Augustana Friday at 3 p.m. followed by a Sunday afternoon contest at #13 Minnesota State.
