2023 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team

            Colin Lynam of Wayne State College was named to the 2023 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota, earning Second Team honors.
            A 6-0, 185-pound junior outfielder from Springfield (Northeast CC/Platteview HS), Lynam hit .351 this season for the Wildcats leading the team in hits (59), at bats (168), doubles (13) RBI's (54), total bases (111) and tied for the team lead with 11 home runs.  He tied for sixth in the NSIC this season in runs batted in. 
            Lynam had the longest hit streak for the Wildcats this season (18 games) and had a team-high 14 multi-RBI games while tied for second with 15 multi-hit games while being just one of two players on the team to start all 48 games this season.
            Lynam was named NSIC Player of the Week April 10^th and NCBWA (National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association) Central Region and National Player of the Week April 12^th after batting .632 in five games vs. Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State going 12 for 19 at the plate with 13 RBI's and 13 runs scored while recording four multi-hit games. 
            In 34 NSIC games this season, Lynam posted a .333 average with six home runs and 34 RBI.
            Wayne State is 24-24 overall and finished NSIC play with an 18-16 league record this season.  The Wildcats face top-seeded Augustana Wednesday at 12 p.m. in the opening round of the Northern Sun Conference Baseball Tournament in Bismarck, North Dakota.
