Wayne State baseball earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award Release

            The Wayne State College baseball team has earned the 2022-23 ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) Excellence Award announced by the coaches' association office in Greensboro, North Carolina Thursday, July 27th.  WSC recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.45 to qualify for the award.
            The Wildcats were one of eight teams from the Northern Sun Conference and 83 overall in NCAA Division II to receive the honor, which highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  More than 450 collegiate teams and over 300 high school programs from across the country were recognized with this year's award.
            Wayne State finished the 2023 season at 25-26 overall and eighth place in the NSIC with a 18-16 league record.
