Wayne State faces a busy week as the newest top-ranked team in NCAA Division II. The Wildcats host Chadron State Tuesday evening in a non-conference match at Rice Auditorium starting at 6 p.m. WSC then returns to NSIC play this weekend with road matches at Sioux Falls Friday evening at 6 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. match Saturday at #9 Southwest Minnesota State.
Last season, Wayne State defeated Chadron State on the road in Chadron on September 5th 25-11, 25-13, 25-10. The 'Cats topped Sioux Falls in Wayne 3-1 (10/20/22) by scores of 25-16, 28-30, 25-12, 25-21 while the SMSU Mustangs handed the 'Cats their first loss of the year after opening with a 24-game win streak as the Mustangs won a five set marathon over the 'Cats on October 22, 2022 by scores of 27-25, 20-25, 18-25, 25-18, 15-13.
