The Wayne State Football Team will travel to Mankato, Minnesota Saturday night to take on the #9 ranked team in the country, The Minnesota State Mavericks. 

Wayne State is coming off a first week victory over MSU Moorhead 31-23 while MSU also won their first contest of the season defeating Sioux Falls 54-26. 

The two teams met twice last season with Wayne State defeating Minnesota State 41-33 in Wayne while the Mavericks won the second meeting in the Division II Football playoffs 26-9 in Mankato. Minnesota State also holds the all time series record at 13-2.

The Wildcats have won two of the last three meetings with Minnesota State dating back to the 2021 season.
