#2 Concordia-St. Paul cut #3 Wayne State's comeback short and won the Colorado Premier Challenge Championship Match (19-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-21, 7-15). Wayne State falls to 7-1 on the season while Concordia-St. Paul moves to 8-0.Â

Maggie Brahmer all earned all-tournament team honors after the match.Â
Cada had 19 kills for the Wildcats in the loss. She was followed by Brahmer with 16 kills and Beller with 12.
Jordan McCormick would have 11 digs to lead WSC followed by Walker with nine. WSC held a .234 attacking percentage while CSP held a .377.Â
Set 1: #2 Concordia-St. Paul 25 #3 Wayne State 19
The two teams would battle it out to start the match with neither team being able to take much of an advantage on the other. The two teams were tied at 9-9 before CSP went on their first run of the game at 7-3 to open up a 16-12 lead forcing a WSC timeout. The Golden Bears would continue their run out of the time stretching the lead out to 21-13 on the Wildcats. Wayne State would then go on a 4-0 run to cut the lead to 22-17, but it wasn't enough as Concordia-St. Paul would go on to win the set 25-19.Â
Brahmer would lead WSC in the set with five kills followed by Beller with three. Wayne State would hit .133 while CSP would have a .480 attacking percentage in the set.Â
Set 2: #2 Concordia-St. Paul 25 #3 Wayne State 16
The second set would start off a lot like the first set with neither team being able to build more than a two point lead. The game was tied up at 10-10 before CSP went on another mindset run. The Golden Bears 5-1 lead would stretch the lead to 15-11 causing Wayne State to use their first timeout of set two. Concordia-St. Paul would still come out hot after the WSC timeout stretching the lead out to 20-12 forcing the second Wildcat timeout. The teams would trade points out of the timeout, but the Golden Bears would pull away to get the 25-16 set victory.Â
Brahmer and Beller would again lead the Wildcats in set two with four kills each.
Jordan McCormick would add four digs in the set for the 'Cats. CSP would still have a high attacking percentage in the second set at .469 to WSC .294.Â
Set 3: #3 Wayne State 25 #2 Concordia-St. Paul 23
Wayne State would have to play from behind to start off the third set with Concordia-St. Paul built up a 7-3 lead on the 'Cats. WSC would then go on a 7-1 run to take the lead at 10-8 over the Golden Bears. The Wildcats would extend the lead to 15-11 forcing Concordia-St. Paul timeout. CSP would come out of their timeout on a 6-2 run to tie up the game at 17-17 forcing a Wayne State timeout. The two teams would trade points all the way until the 21-21 point where the Wildcats built a point lead at 23-21, The teams then traded points which had the Wildcats coming out on top 25-23.Â
Cada would have seven kills to lead WSC with a .429 attacking percentage. She was followed by Beller and Brahmer who each had three kills. McCormick and Walker would also each add three digs. WSC held a .368 attacking percentage while CSP held a .244.Â
Set 4: #3 Wayne State 25 #2 Concordia-St. Paul 21
The Wildcats would come alive in the third set building a 5-0 lead to start the set behind three kills from Cada, one from Brahmer and a service ace from Beller forcing the Golden Bears to use a timeout early. CSP would battle back , cutting the lead to one at 6-5 still in favor of WSC. WSC would build up the lead to five later on in the set at 15-10. CSP wouldn't stay away for long though, going on a 7-2 run to tie up the game at 17-17 forcing a Wildcat timeout. WSC would come out of the timeout on a 3-1 run of their own making it 20-18 which caused CSP to take another timeout. WSC would maintain a one point lead before going on a 3-0 run to claim the set at 25-21.Â
Cada would lead WSC with seven kills with a .429 attacking percentage in the set. She was followed by Brahmer with three kills.
Rachel Walker would add four digs for the 'Cats in the set win. WSC would hold a .355 attacking percentage to CSP .300.Â
Set 5: #2 Concordia-St. Paul 15 #3 Wayne State 7Â
The Golden Bears started out with the lead in the fifth set and didn't look back. The Wildcats had the game within one point at 6-5 before Concordia-St. Paul went on a 4-1 run to make it 10-6 forcing WSC to call a timeout. CSP would also score the first two points coming out of the timeout making it 12-6 making the Wildcats use their second timeout. WSC would score the first point after the timeout before a 3-0 run from the Golden Bears would end the match with CSP taking the set 15-7.Â
Cada would have three kills for the 'Cats in the fifth set. CSP would dominate the Wildcats in the set holding a .615 attacking percentage to the Wildcats -.050.Â
Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul will meet again next Friday night in the conference opener for both teams in Wayne.Â
