Emporia State held Wayne State to just three hits as the Hornets registered a 7-0 shutout win over the Wildcats Sunday afternoon at the Emporia State 6-State Classic Softball Tournament in Emporia, Kansas. Host ESU is now 7-6 on the year while the Wildcats fall to 1-7.
The host Hornets opened the scoring with one run in the first and added three more in the second for a 4-0 lead.
Emporia State added two more runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to make the final score 7-0.
Jordyn Rochholz went 2 for 3 to lead WSC at the plate, recording singles in the first and fourth innings.
Annika Manzanares added a single in the seventh inning for Wayne State's three hits in the game.

Grace Lucka fired the final three innings for the 'Cats.
Wayne State will be in action again next weekend at the Washburn Tournament in Topeka, Kansas. The 'Cats face Fort Hays State Saturday morning at 10 a.m. followed by a 2 p.m. contest vs. Central Missouri.
