The Wayne State College Foundation Office and Athletic Department is excited to announce a donor locker campaign for the new cross country and track and field locker room that will be part of the Athletic and Recreation Complex Project.
Thanks to lead gifts from the WSC Foundation and alumni, Wayne State student-athletes will have the facilities needed to continue the championship tradition of Wildcat cross country and track and field programs as part of the Athletic Facility Renovation, Expansion and Locker Room Addition project.
The ARC project will feature an air-supported structure that includes a 300-meter track (the first indoor 300-meter track in the state of Nebraska) and dedicated areas for jumps and throws, a locker room addition for cross country and track and field, the Recreation Center and Alley Expansion that will feature an auxiliary weight room for student athletes and central access point and additional functional and practical classroom space for academic program support.
The air-supported structure is scheduled for completion in August, 2024.
"This new facility and addition of locker rooms will raise the competitiveness of our track and field and cross country teams to a new level," said veteran Wildcat head coach Marlon Brink. "It will assist in establishing Wayne State as a program whose goal is to compete with the best in the NSIC and NCAA Division II. This is truly a turning point in the history of our programs."
The WSC Foundation/Alumni Office is pleased to launch opportunities for the naming of lockers in the new cross country/track and field locker rooms. Those interested can etch their name in Wildcat Athletics history by donating to the locker campaign. An engraved donor plaque will be placed outside the men's and women's locker rooms to show all current and future Wildcat student-athletes the commitment you have to the programs.
You can secure your spot on the donor wall today with a $1,000 (or more) donation. Contributions are tax deductible and directly support the Athletics and Recreation Complex Project.
