The Wayne State football team, fresh off a 49-17 season opening win last week over Missouri S&T, opens Northern Sun Conference play Thursday evening with a tough road test at MSU Moorhead. Kickoff at Scheel's Field is set for 6:00 p.m. in Moorhead, Minnesota. Despite Missouri S&T holding commanding edges in plays (91-43) and time of possession (40:27-19:33), Wayne State used big plays to defeat the Miners in the Week 0 opener. MSU Moorhead is opening their season against the Wildcats after a 7-4 campaign last season and sixth place prediction in the Preseason NSIC Coaches' Poll. MSU Moorhead holds a 15-12 lead in the all-time series against WSC, but the Wildcats have won the last three meetings that includes a 31-23 win in Wayne in last year's season opener.
