Host Sioux Falls scored two second half goals and rallied for a 2-1 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer victory over Wayne State Sunday afternoon at Bob Young Field in Sioux Falls. The Wildcats drop to 5-4-4 and 4-4-2 in the league while the Cougars improve to 6-6-1 and 4-5-1 in league play.
Wayne State got on the scoreboard early in the contest as freshman defender
Molly Riggins launched a 15-yard shot from left of the box that sailed over the USF goalkeeper's hands into the top right of the goal giving the Wildcats a 1-0 advantage just 7:53 into the contest.
That was the lone score of the opening half as Sioux Falls held a 6-4 edge in shots and 3-2 in shots on goal over the Wildcats.
Sioux Falls wasted little time in the second half to even the score as the Cougars scored just 1:26 into the half as Addison Van Zee scored from top of the box to knot the score at 1-1.
The Cougars took the lead for good near the 68
th minute as Van Zee scored again giving Sioux Falls a 2-1 lead that would not relinquish.
WSC was held to just two shots in the second half – none on goal – while USF had six shots with three on goal.
Sioux Falls held a 12-5 edge in shots and 6-2 in shots on goal over the Wildcats. USF was in favor on corner kicks 4-2 while both clubs were called for 12 fouls.

Reagan Allen was credited with two of Wayne State's five shots.

Alexa Hofstetter played all 90 minutes in goal and made four saves while allowing two goals.
Wayne State will play their final two home games of the season next weekend at the WSC Soccer Pitch hosting Northern State Friday at 3 p.m. and Jamestown Sunday in a 1 p.m. contest.
