Delaney Miller accounted for a career-high 22 kills to lead #6 Wayne State past Augustana in Northern Sun Conference volleyball Tuesday evening in Sioux Falls, South Dakota by scores of 25-21, 27-25, 23-25, 25-15. WSC is now 18-3 and 11-1 in the NSIC while the host Vikings slip to 9-11 and 3-9 in league play.

The second set saw the Wildcats avoid two Augustana set points as WSC rallied for a 27-25 win. WSC built a 16-13 lead, but the host Vikings rattled off five straight points to grab an 18-16 lead forcing a Wildcat timeout. Trailing 25-24, WSC got back-to-back kills from Miller and a set-clinching kill from junior middle hitter

Miller's eight kills led WSC in the second set followed by Hanel,
Channatee Robles and
Molly Romano with three kills apiece.
Augustana used 18 kills in the third set to keep the match alive as the Vikings edged the Wildcats 25-23. Hanel had six kills for the 'Cats with Miller adding five and Robles four.
Wayne State cruised in the fourth set, recording 17 kills while holding Augustana to just 10 kills while forcing five errors as the Wildcats clinched the match with a 25-15 fourth set win.
Robles had five kills for the 'Cats with Hanel and Miller each adding four.
Wayne State finished the match with a .295 hitting percentage compared to .225 for Augustana. The 'Cats held a 63-59 edge in kills and 90-84 on digs. Both teams had six blocks.
Miller's career-high 22 kills led the Wildcats followed by Hanel with 17 and Robles 14. Robles and freshman outside hitter
Mattie Kamery each had 19 digs followed by junior defensive specialist
Reese Johnson with 17. Sophomore setter
Molly Romano had 44 assists with 16 digs while sophomore libero
Anna Borner added 11 digs.
Kathol, Hanel and Romano each had three blocks.
The 'Cats are on the road again this weekend visiting Bemidji State Friday at 6 p.m. and play at #18 Minnesota Duluth Saturday in a 4 p.m. contest.
