Robles named AVCA Division II National Player of the Week

10/21/2025 12:18:00 PM

Wayne State's Channatee Robles was announced Tuesday afternoon as the AVCA Division II National Volleyball Player of the Week following her performances in last week's 3-0 road win at Sioux Falls and 3-1 home win Saturday over then #15 Southwest Minnesota State.  Robles is the sixth different Wildcat player in program history to earn AVCA National Player of the Week honors, joining WSC Hall of Famers Emily Schroeder (2006, 2007), Jennifer Hefner (2009, 2010), Alyssa Frauendorfer (2014), Taya Beller (2022) and Maggie Brahmer (2023).
Robles, a 5-11 junior outside hitter from Norfolk (Norfolk Catholic HS), was named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week Monday after averaging an NSIC-best 6.00 kills and 6.21 points per set with a .351 hitting percentage last week.  She had a career-high 24 kills with 18 digs in Saturday's 3-1 home win over #15 Southwest Minnesota State and produced 18 kills and a .516 hitting percentage in Thursday's 3-0 road sweep at Sioux Falls.
For the season, Robles is averaging 3.29 kills (11th-NSIC) and 2.89 digs per set and ranks seventh in the league in points per set (3.88) and eighth in service aces at 0.41 per set.
Wayne State is ranked sixth in this week's AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll with a 17-3 record, tied for first in the NSIC with a 10-1 league mark.  The Wildcats are in action tonight (Tuesday evening) as WSC visits Augustana for an NSIC match starting at 6 p.m.
