Wayne State College will host the 2025 Northern Sun Conference Cross Country Championships Friday afternoon on the back nine of the Wayne Country Club. The women's race (6,000 meters) takes place at 12 p.m. with all 16 schools competing followed by the 8,000-meter men's race scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. Awards will be handed out at approximately 2:15 p.m. It's the seventh time since 2004 that Wayne State has hosted the NSIC Cross Country Championships.
The Augustana women are the defending team champion. Two women's teams are nationally ranked - Winona State 11th and Minnesota State 27th - in the latest USTFCCCA Division II National Rankings while Winona State is listed first in the Central Region and Minnesota State sixth.
The Augustana men have won 14 of the last 15 NSIC Cross Country titles and are this year's defending champions. The Vikings are the lone NSIC team nationally ranked at 25th and sit fifth in this week's Central Region rankings.
The NCAA Central Region Championships will take place on Saturday, November 8th at the Tom Rutledge Course in Joplin, Missouri. The NCAA Division II National Championships are set for Saturday, November 22 at Wayne E Danehl National CC in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
