#9 Wayne State volleyball would be defeated in straight sets by the #11 Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears on the road. The set scores were 14-25, 21-25, 12-25. WSC moves to 13-3 and 6-1 in conference while CSP move to 11-3 and 7-0 in the NSIC.
The first set was tight through, with CSP's largest lead early was 5-1 before the 'Cats tied it up at 8-8. The Golden Bears would then go on a large run and stretch their lead to 20-10. Wayne State would go on to score four more points before CSP took the set. The Golden Bears used eight blocks and a balanced attack to get ahead of the 'Cats early.
Set two saw six ties and four lead changes as the two ranked squads battled back and forth. WSC had a 9-7 lead before CSP scored five unanswered points and forced a timeout. The Wildcats kept it close, cutting the lead down to three twice at the 14-17 mark and the 24-21 mark, but couldn't force the set into extras.
Laney Kathol,
Chloe Hanel, and
Ella Myler each had three kills in the set.
Concordia-St. Paul controlled the third set and jumped out to a 13-4 lead. WSC was able to claw back to make it 20-10. CSP would take the final set 25-15 and give the Wildcats their first conference loss.
Freshman
Mattie Kamery led the 'Cats with 6 kills followed by
Channatee Robles and Hanel with five each.
Molly Romano led with 12 digs followed up by Robles with 12 and Kamery's 10.

Wayne State will be back in Wayne, Neb. when they host Minnesota State on Friday, Oct. 10
th. Match is set to start at 6 p.m. in Rice Auditorium.
