#3 Wayne State used 17 kills from freshman outside hitter
Delaney Miller to post a sweep over the University of Jamestown in Northern Sun Conference volleyball Friday evening on Autograph Poster Night at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. Scores of the match were 25-20, 25-11, 25-21. WSC is now 25-3 on the season and tied for first in the NSIC with a 18-1 league record while the Jimmies slip to 9-17 and 4-15 in league play.
After trailing early in the first set at 5-3, WSC scored five straight points to take the lead for good as the Wildcats picked up a 25-20 first set win. A kill by
Molly Romano followed by four straight points served by Romano that included two aces put the 'Cats ahead 9-5. The 'Cats extended the opening set lead to 14-7, but Jamestown rallied and got within three at 16-13 to force a Wildcat timeout.

Delaney Miller kill followed by two Jamestown errors put the 'Cats back up six at 19-13 and WSC closed the opening set with a 25-20 victory.
Six different Wildcats had kills in the first set led by Miller with four. Romano had two aces while
Laney Kathol recorded two blocks.
The second set was all Wildcats as WSC had 18 kills without an attack error hitting .439 as Wayne State rolled to a 25-11 set win.
Miller had six kills followed by Robles with five. Kathol added three kills and two blocks while Romano and
Channatee Robles each had one ace.
Third set action was close early featuring six ties and a pair of lead changes. Knotted at 8-8, the 'Cats scored five of the next six points to grab a 13-9 lead thanks to a pair of Robles kills and one each by Romano and Miller.
WSC then extended the advantage to 18-11 following Jamestown attack error. UJ got as close as 21-18, but a service error followed by a rare kill from libero
Anna Borner and one by Miller gave the 'Cats a 24-18 advantage as Wayne State finished with a 25-21 win for the sweep.
Miller's seven kills paced WSC in the third set while Robles added four.
Wayne State finished the match hitting .288 compared to .145 for Jamestown. The 'Cats held a 48-34 edge in kills and 55-52 in digs. Both teams had four service aces while WSC held a 8-5 edge in blocks.
Miller ended the match with a game-high 17 kills followed by Robles with 11 and 12 digs for her 11
th double-double of the season. Kathol had a team-high six blocks to go with six kills and a .462 hitting percentage. Setter
Molly Romano was credited with 38 set assists, nine digs and a team-high three service aces. Freshman
Mattie Kamery paced Wayne State with 14 digs followed by
Anna Borner with 13.
The Wildcats will be at home again Saturday afternoon hosting Northern State in a 5 p.m. contest at Rice Auditorium.
