Wayne State moved up one spot to second in this week's AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released Monday afternoon. The 26-3 Wildcats received 1,072 points in voting conducted by 47 various Division II coaches from across the country.
Wayne State went closed the regular season with home wins over the weekend, beating Jamestown 3-0 and Northern State 3-1 Saturday to capture a third NSIC regular season title in the last four years with a 19-1 league mark. The 'Cats open NSIC Volleyball Tournament play Tuesday evening as the #2 seed hosting #7 Northern State at 6 p.m. in Rice Auditorium.
