Romano named NSIC Volleyball Setter of the Week

            For the second time in three weeks, Wayne State College setter Molly Romano has been selected as the Northern Sun Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week announced by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota Monday afternoon following her play in two home wins over the weekend against MSU Moorhead and Minnesota Crookston. 
            Romano, a 5-9 sophomore from Council Bluffs, Iowa (Abraham Lincoln HS), averaged 11.86 assists and 2.86 digs per set to go with 0.57 blocks.  In Friday's 3-1 win over MSU Moorhead, Romano accounted for 50 set assists and 14 digs with three blocks for her ninth double-double of the season.  She also handed out 33 assists Saturday in 3-0 sweep over Minnesota Crookston.  Romano led the Wildcat offense to an NSIC-best .362 team hitting percentage last week.
            For the season, Romano averages 10.87 assists to rank sixth in the NSIC and also produces 2.60 digs per set.
            Wayne State, ranked sixth in last week's AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, is 22-3 on the season and tied for first in the NSIC with a 15-1 conference record.  The Wildcats are on the road this weekend visiting Minot State Friday at 6 p.m. and UMary on Saturday for a 10 a.m. contest.
