Wayne State volleyball is under consideration in the first NCAA Central Region rankings released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The first ranking of the season lists teams in alphabetical order as under consideration.
The NSIC, Mid-America Athletic Association and Great American Conference comprise the 40-team NCAA Central Region. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Central Region Tournament December 4-7. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA, GAC and NSIC postseason tournaments with the remaining five spots awarded on an at-large basis. The NCAA volleyball selection show will be streamed online on Monday, November 24th at 6:30 p.m. Central Time on NCAA.com.
Wayne State is ranked fifth in this week's AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll with a 22-3 record and tied for first in the NSIC at 15-1 in the league. The Wildcats play road matches this weekend at Minot State Friday at 6 p.m. and UMary Saturday in a 10 a.m. contest.
