Robles, Miller power #5 Wildcats in sweep at UMary

            Channatee Robles and Delaney Miller combined for 25 kills to lead #5 Wayne State in a 25-16, 27-25, 25-8 Northern Sun Conference volleyball sweep Saturday morning at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.  The 'Cats are now 24-3 on the season and 17-1 in the NSIC while the host Marauders drop to 6-20 and 3-15 in league play. 
            The first set saw the Wildcats turn an early 6-3 deficit into a 17-11 lead and Wayne State went on to post a 25-16 opening set win.  
            Miller and Robles each recorded six kills in the opening set to pace the Wildcats, who hit .419 in the opening set with 17 kills.
            The second set saw the two teams exchange eight ties and four lead changes with WSC needing to go extra points to finish with a 27-25 victory.
            WSC held a comfortable 18-14 lead in the set, but the Marauders reeled off five straight points to grab a 19-18 lead and was in front 23-20 in the set.  The Marauders had set point at 24-23, but freshman Mattie Kamery came through for the 'Cats with a pair of kills and a service ace to give WSC set point at 26-25 and a Robles kill closed the set for the 'Cats with a 27-25 win.
            Robles posted four kills and had three service aces for the 'Cats in the second set while Miller also had four kills.  Kamery and Chloe Hanel each added three kills.
            Wayne State controlled the third set, holding UMary to just five kills while forcing 11 attack errors, as the 'Cats cruised to a 25-8 third set win.
            Six different Wildcats were credited with kills in the set, led by Robles with three.  
            WSC finished the match with a .320 hitting percentage while holding the Marauders to .102.  The 'Cats held a 45-31 advantage in kills, 51-41 in digs and 7-3 in service aces.  Both teams had seven blocks in the contest.
            Robles had 13 kills with three service aces to lead the Wildcats followed by Miller with 12 kills.  Defensive specialist Reese Johnson had a team-high 18 digs with sophomore libero Anna Borner adding 14.  Junior Laney Kathol had a team-high five blocks while setter Molly Romano accounted for 40 set assists.
            Wayne State will be at home next weekend hosting Jamestown Friday at 6 p.m. and #22 Northern State Saturday in a 5 p.m. contest.
