Wayne State College Head Strength and Conditioning Coach
Dakota Coon will be a featured speaker at the 2026 Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Conference in Fort Worth, Texas May 4-6.
Coon, in his fifth year as head strength and conditioning coach and seventh year overall at Wayne State College, will give a presentation on practical concurrent and undulating training considerations. Concurrent training is the coupling of all three of the major muscular methods (Max effort, dynamic effort and repetition effort). Undulating training is the concept of varying intensities and volumes across training blocks. Both trainings are cornerstone principles of Wayne State strength and conditioning and heavily used by Wildcat football and volleyball teams.
"I am extremely honored to be asked to speak at the CSCCa conference," remarked Coon. "It is a large career milestone for me professionally. Being able to represent Wayne State College, our athletes and coaches and all the work that has gone into our success here. Being on the highest stage in the strength and conditioning profession is a responsibility I do not take lightly."
The Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Conference is the most prestigious strength and conditioning event in the United States. The CSCCA is considered the gold standard organization for strength and conditioning and certification for collegiate and professional strength and conditioning coaches.Â
