Wayne State College Athletics has announced the launch of the Hall of Fame Cat Club, a new giving society created exclusively for Wayne State Athletics Hall of Fame inductees. The initiative is designed to strengthen scholarship support for current and future Wildcat student-athletes while honoring the legacy of the college's most accomplished alumni.
            The average cost of a scholarship for a Wayne State student-athlete now exceeds $18,000 per year, and Wayne State currently ranks in the bottom third of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in overall scholarship support. The Hall of Fame Cat Club aims to close that gap by engaging former Wildcat greats in a collective effort to invest in the next generation.
            Membership in the Hall of Fame Cat Club offers multiple giving levels, including the Pride Level ($25+), Founder Level ($1,250+), and the opportunity to establish an Annual Named Scholarship ($2,500+). Contributions directly support student-athlete scholarships and make an immediate and lasting impact across Wayne State's athletic programs.
            Wayne State Director of Athletics Mike Powicki emphasized the importance of Hall of Fame leadership in shaping the future of Wildcat Athletics.
"Thank you for helping build the foundation of Wayne State Athletics as a Hall of Fame member," Powicki said. "Your achievements have shaped the legacy of Wildcat Athletics and continue to inspire our student-athletes every day. With the new Hall of Fame Cat Club, we're reaching out to our greatest Wildcats to support expanded scholarship opportunities and help create champions and future Wayne State Hall of Famers."
            The Hall of Fame Cat Club reinforces a simple message shared by generations of Wildcats: being a Wildcat is for life. Through this initiative, Hall of Fame inductees can ensure their legacy continues—not only in record books and displays, but in the lives of student-athletes who wear the Black and Gold today.
