Tyson Romero fired six innings of one-run ball as Wayne State routed Wayne State of Michigan 11-1 in eight innings Monday afternoon at the RussMatt Central Florida Baseball Invitational in Winter Haven, Florida. The Wildcats are now 4-8 with the win while the Warriors drop to 6-7.
The Wildcats threw a steady dose of offense at the Warriors scoring runs in six of the eight innings.
Taylor Gill homered to lead off the second for a 1-0 WSC lead.
The score moved to 2-0 in the third when
Noah Strizek doubled and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Douglas.
A four-run fifth inning put the 'Cats ahead 6-0. Douglas had a two-run homer to bring in
Cam Madsen (singled) while
Kaden Young later added a two-run single to score

Wayne State of Michigan scored their lone run of the game in the top of sixth with the Wildcats matching that run thanks to an RBI single from Douglas that brought home
Casey Prychak (walk).

Three runs in the eighth inning allowed Wayne State to win the game on the 10-run rule. The 'Cats scored three runs without a hit, using two walks, a balk and two hit batters to score three runs.
Wayne State held a 9-5 advantage in hits over the Warriors. Douglas finished 2 for 3 with a homer, four RBI and two runs scored. Madsen went 2 for 4 with a pair of runs scored. Gill had a solo homer while Cannon added an RBI triple while Strizek had a double for the other extra base hits by the 'Cats.
