Wayne State returns home this weekend to face Southwest Minnesota State in the annual Homecoming Game at Bob Cunningham Field Saturday afternoon in a 1 p.m. contest. The Wildcats are 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the league following last Saturday's 27-17 victory at previously unbeaten MSU Moorhead while the Mustangs come to Wayne with records of 1-2 overall and in the NSIC after suffering a 40-9 home loss last week to the University of Mary.  WSC holds a 27-8 advantage in the all-time series against SMSU that began in the 1969 season.  The 'Cats have won the last eight meetings vs. the Mustangs including last year's 41-7 victory in Marshall.
