#14 Wayne State forced 27 Bemidji State attack errors and freshman outside hitter
Delaney Miller recorded a match-high 12 kills to lead the Wildcats in a 25-18, 25-17, 25-13 NSIC volleyball win Saturday afternoon over the Beavers at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. WSC is now 11-2 and 5-0 in the league while BSU is 3-10 and 0-5.
The 'Cats took an early lead on BSU in the first set at 14-6, but the Beavers rallied and got as close at 16-13 to force a WSC timeout. WSC then closed the set strong and finished with a 25-18 set win.
Miller's seven kills in the opening set powered the Wildcats, who hit .273 with 12 kills, while forcing 10 BSU attack errors that included four WSC blocks.
The second set saw the Beavers battle with the 'Cats early in the set, tied at 10-10, until WSC scored four straight points to take the lead for good and close with a 25-17 set win.
Miller had four kills to lead WSC in the set with
Chloe Hanel adding three while
Laney Kathol had three blocks.
The third set was all Wildcats, never trailing while completing the sweep with a 25-13 win.
Mattie Kamery had four kills on four swings for WSC while Hanel added four kills and a solo block.
For the match, WSC hit .272 with 38 kills while holding BSU to a .009 percentage with 28 kills and 27 errors. The 'Cats had 10 blocks and served up one more ace than the Beavers, 4-3.
Miller's 12 kills led the 'Cats followed by Kamery with eight and Hanel seven. Kathol had seven blocks with Miller and Hanel each recording three.
