Wayne State opens Northern Sun Conference play on the road this weekend visiting Minnesota State Friday at 6 p.m. in Mankato followed by a Saturday afternoon 2 p.m. contest at #8 St. Cloud State.   Last season, WSC beat then #22 Minnesota State in Wayne on October 10th 25-23, 25-18, 25-21 in the lone matchup.  WSC and SCSU split a pair of matches last year as the 'Cats won in Wayne October 11th 25-20, 34-36, 20-25, 25-19, 15-10 while the Huskies beat Wayne State in the semi-finals of the NSIC Tournament in St. Paul, Minnesota November 21 3-1 with set scores of 19-25, 24-26, 27-25, 15-25.
