The Wayne State College women's soccer team capped a successful weekend road trip by collecting a 1-1 tie at Concordia-St. Paul Sunday afternoon at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota. It capped a four-point weekend for the 'Cats, who won 3-0 at Winona State Friday night. WSC is now 3-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in NSIC play while the host Golden Bears are now 3-1-5 and 2-1-3 in conference games.
The Wildcats opened the scoring in the 10
th minute when junior defender
Sarah Pritchard scored her first goal of the season off an assist from
Addison Vodnansky giving WSC the early advantage.
CSP responded less than 15 minutes later to tie the score when Lexi Pettit found the back of the net for the Golden Bears at the 24:27 mark to even the contest at 1-1.
The host Golden Bears ended the first half with a 13-5 edge in shots but WSC had one more shot on goal at 4-3.
The second half saw CSP be very aggressive on the offensive end, recording 19 shots with nine on goal compared to Wayne State's four shots and none on goal.

Alexa Hofstetter denied the Golden Bears any chance of taking the lead in the second half, posting nine saves in the half, allowing Wayne State to end the contest with a 1-1 draw.
For the contest, CSP held a 32-9 edge in shots and 12-4 in shots on goal. The Golden Bears enjoyed an 11-5 lead in corner kicks while both teams were called for four fouls.
Pritchard scored the Wildcat goal with an assist by Vodnansky. Junior forward
Morgan Mancuso had three shots with two on goal for WSC while Pritchard and
Olivia Thompson each posted two shots. Pritchard and
Emma Wasilewski were also credited with shots on goal.
Hofstetter ended the contest with 11 saves while allowing just one goal. It was her second double-digit save contest of the season.
The Wildcats return home next weekend for a pair of NSIC matches hosting Minot State Friday at 3 p.m. and the University of Mary on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest.
