Wayne State College

2012: Started 22 games in center field for Wayne State before suffering season ending injury that cut season short...hit .287 on the year going 23 for 80 at the plate with one double, two triples, four RBI's and 21 runs scored while drawing 13 walks...had a six game hitting streak and had four multiple hit games (two games with two hits and two games with three hits)...went 3 for 4 vs. Urbana (Ohio) on 3-10-12...was 3 for 6 with two runs scored vs. University of Mary on 3-25-12...went 2 for 3 with one double, one stolen base, one RBI and three runs scored vs. Bemidji State on 3-18-12.

2011: Earned Second Team NSIC All Conference honors after hitting .363 in 37 games for the Wildcats...led the team in stolen bases (13), tied for seventh in the NSIC, and ranked second on the team in hits, (53) run scored (39) and at bats (146)...was second on the team with 15 multi-hit games and ended the season with a team high eight game winning streak...had for hits in two games going 4 for 6 with three RBI's and three stolen bases vs. Northern State on 4-3-11 and was 4 for 5 with two RBI's at Concordia-St. Paul on 4-22-11...had season high four RBI's going 3 for 5 with three runs scored vs. Southwest Minnesota State on 5-8-11.

Before WSC: Played two seasons at Southeast Community College in Beatrice where Burkhart was a two-time all conference and all-region selection... in 2010, hit .461 with 12 stolen bases and in 2009 hit .407 with 17 stolen bases...was also an academic all-region selection in 2010.

High School: Graduate of Millard South High School...was a two year letterwinner in baseball and football...as a senior hit .427 and was a starter in the Collin-Orcut All Star Game...was an all-state honorable mention selection in 2007 and 2008...hit .388 in junior season.

Personal: Son of Duane and Nancy Burkhart...born on February 4, 1990...majoring in history/social science education at WSC.
