Biography

2013-2014: Played in all 33 games as a back up forward, averaging 3.2 points and 3.3 assists per contest...shot 51.5 percent from the field (34-66), 40.5 percent behind the 3-point line (15-37) and 69.7 percent from the free throw stripe (23-33) while playing 13.1 minutes per game...scored season high 10 points going 3 for 3 from the 3-point line at Minnesota Duluth (2/1/14)...grabbed career high 13 rebounds vs. Peru State (11/9/13)...had seven points and nine rebounds vs. Dominican (Calif.) on 11/29/13...had career high four blocked shots vs. Lees-McRae (NC) on 11/28/13...received prestigious NSIC/Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction for maintaining a 3.75 GPA as a graduating senior...was also selected to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2012-2013: Appeared in all 27 games for Wayne State during the season...scored 62 points and grabbed 104 rebounds (77 defensive, 27 offensive) during the year...averaged 13.9 minutes per game while averaging 2.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game...scored a career high 12 points against Augustana on 1/15/13...had a career high 12 rebounds on 11/25/12 vs. St. Ambrose along with a career high four assist...selected to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2011-2012: Received medical redshirt for the season.

2010-2011: Redshirted

Before Wayne State: Attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia before transferring to WSC...was a two time A-Sun All-Academic selection at Mercer and played 25 games in her two seasons...had a career high seven points on three occasions and had a career high six rebounds vs. East Carolina on 12-19-08.

High School: Standout three sport athlete (volleyball, basketball and track and field) at Hot Springs High School in South Dakota earning All-State honors in volleyball and basketball.  Averaged 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals per game in senior season and had 18 points, eight rebounds and two steals per game as a junior with the Bison...was a three-time All Black Hills Conference selection in basketball and was on the honor roll for four seasons that included Academic All-State honors in 2005 and 2007.

Personal: Parents are Roy and Lynette Powell...born March 13, 1990...majoring in sport management.
