2013: Had 12 relief appearances for the Wildcats during senior season...had an ERA of 4.32 in 25.0 innings pitched...notched one save on the season vs. Minot State on 2-15-13...also recorded 17 strikeouts while only allowing 13 runs (12 earned)...struck out four batters in two seperate games first against Wheeling Jesuit (W.V.) on 3-5-13 and then again against Upper Iowa on 5-2-13.

2012: Appeared in 14 games on the mound for WSC during his first season with the team...ranked second on the team in appearances with 14...threw 24.0 innings of work for an ERA of 3.38 with one save and a record of 0-3...recorded seven strikeouts and eight walks while allowing 29 hits and 12 runs (nine earned)...notched three strikeouts and zero walks while allowing five hits and one run (one earned) in five innings pitched on 3-9-12 vs. LeMoyne (NY)...received NSIC Spring All-Academic honors.

Before WSC: MacDonell transfers to WSC from Vancouver Island University in Canada...was a First Team All Star in 2011 season, going 7-3 with a 1.59 ERA...had 43 strikeouts in 57.1 innings pitched...in 2010 helped his team to the Canadian College Baseball Conference National Championship going 5-4 with a 2.31 ERA striking out 59 batters in 66.2 innings pitched.
