Wayne State College

2014: Had 14 apperances in eight starts during first season at WSC...recording a 2-3 record with a 4.44 ERA...pitched 46.2 innings during the season, allowing 52 hits and 30 runs (23 earned) with 24 strikeouts and 16 walks. Fired six innings of three-hit ball striking out six in a 14-3 win over Northern State (3/29/14)...also pitched six innings of scoreless ball to earn 3-1 win at Minnesota Crookston (4/18/14)... had five strikeouts in 4.1 innings vs. Sioux Falls (4/6/14).

Before Wayne State: Russell transfers to Wayne State from Morningside College where he recorded the eighth best ERA in school history at 2.1 while holding opponents to a .188 batting average.

High School: Graduate of Nebraska City High School where he was a multi-sport athlete who competed in baseball, cross-country and basketball...was named First Team All-Conference during his senior season and was named Academic All-State twice in baseball, basketball and cross-country...also helped Nebraska City HS to their first ever state playoff appearance where they finished fourth.

Personal: Son of Duane and Julia Russell, born on 1/28/1991...pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration at WSC.
