Biography

2010-11: Averaged 13.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game during senior season to earn First Team All-Northern Sun Conference honors for the second straight season...also named to All-NSIC Defensive Team and was selected Daktronics Second Team All-Central Region...had six double-doubles on the season and was a three-time Northern Sun Conference Player of the Week (11/15/10, 12/20/10 and 2/28/11)...ranked fourth in the NSIC in blocked shots per game (1.30), seventh in rebounding, 10th in scoring and 12th in field goal percentage (.489)...shot 48.9 percent (158-323) from the field and 71.4 percent (100-140) from the free throw line...had six games with 20 or more points, highlighted by season-high 25 points at Southwest Minnesota State on 12/3/10 that made her the 14th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points...grabbed career-high 19 rebounds to go with 15 points at Minnesota, Crookston on 12/18/10...also excelled in the classroom, earning Capital One Academic All-District VII First Team honors for second straight season (last year ESPN The Magazine sponsored award)...also one of just three WSC seniors to earn prestigious NSIC Myles Brand All Academic with Distinction Award with cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better as a graduating senior...finished WSC career ranking seventh on all-time scoring list with 1,334 points, fourth in career rebounds with 829 and fourth in career blocked shots with 99...was a repeat selection to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2009-10: Named First Team All-NSIC and was selected Most Valuable Player of the 2010 NSIC Tournament after leading Wildcats to the tournament title...averaged 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game...ranked sixth in the NSIC in scoring, tied for fourth in rebounding, 11th in free throw percentage (.791), second in steals (2.26), third in blocked shots (1.26) and led the league in offensive rebounds per game (3.68)...had 10 double-doubles on the season and had 25 games with 10 or more points...had two of her best games at the end of the year, recording 26 points and 11 rebounds vs. Minnesota Duluth in the NSIC Tournament Championship game (3-7-10) and matched career high 27 points to go with 12 rebounds vs. CSU Pueblo in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional (3-12-10)...shot 46.6 percent (177-380) from the field and 79.1 percent (110-139) from the free throw line...selected to the NSIC Winter All Academic Team and was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All District VII First Team.

2008-09: Earned Second Team All-NSIC honors after averaging 10.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game starting 18 of 28 games at center for the Wildcats...had strong second half of the season, scoring in double figures in last eight games and 11 of the last 12...scored career-high 27 points with nine rebounds at Augustana on 2-7-09...had three double-doubles during the season, highlighted by 21 points and 14 rebounds at Upper Iowa (2-14-09)...had 19 points and 12 rebounds at Minnesota State (1-23-09) and had 16 points and 11 rebounds vs. Southwest Minnesota State (2-25-09)...ranked third in the NSIC in overall field goal percentage (.519), second in offensive rebounds per game (2.89) and sixth in rebounding (7.1)...named Nebraska NCAA Division II WBB Player of the Week twice (2-16-09 and 3-2-09)...shot 51.9 percent (109-210) from the field and 73.9 percent (82-111) at the free throw stripe.

2007-08: Saw action in 30 of 32 games with seven starts for the Wildcats at the center position during freshman season...averaged 5.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while averaging 15.7 minutes per game...scored career-high 17 points to go with five rebounds in Wildcats' 85-78 upset win over #6 North Dakota on 3-14-08 at the NCAA North Central Regional Tournament...had 11 points vs. Concordia-St. Paul in NSIC Tournament championship game on 3-8-08...grabbed season-high 10 rebounds vs. Mount Mercy College on 12-15-07...had season-high two blocks at Winona State on 1-5-08...ranked ninth in the NSIC in offensive rebounds per game (1.97).

High School: Graduate of Mahtomedi High School in Minnesota...Was a three-time All-Conference performer in basketball and earned All-Conference honors in soccer as a senior...played on three Class A State Championship soccer teams at Mahtomedi HS...averaged 11.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game as a junior in basketball.

Personal: Daughter of Mark and Susan Hjelle...born on June 27, 1989...majoring in counseling with a minor in sociology.
