Biography

2025:  Played in all 52 games at shortstop and hit .278 for the season with two home runs and 35 RBI...had longest hit streak (nine games) and longest reached base safely streak at 20 games during season while drawing team-high 34 walks...also recorded 10 multi-hit games with eight multi-RBI contests...was 3 for 3 with a homer and three RBI vs. UMary (3/27/25)...had season-high four RBI going 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored in 13-6 win vs. Minnesota Duluth (4/4/25)...had two-run homer in 8-3 win over Minot State (3/23/25)...tripled, stole two bases and walked twice vs. Minnesota Crookston (2/24/25)...was 2 for 5 with a pair of doubles in 9-8, 10-inning NSIC Tournament win vs. Minnesota Duluth (5/7/25)...was NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence selection for second straight year.

2024:  Started all 52 games (51 at shortstop) posting .315 batting average with one home run and 47 RBI (second on team)...named Most Valuable Player and led team with 10 sacrifice hits and 129 assists and 20-game reached base safely streak while tied for team lead in multi-hit games (18) and multi-RBI games (14)...had season-high four RBI, going 2 for 4 with a double in 10-4 win over Minnesota Crookston (2/21/24)...went 3 for 3 with a triple and three RBI vs. Minot State (3/30/24) and was 3 for 3 vs. St. Cloud State (4/21/24)...had 3 for 4 game with two doubles and RBI at Winona State (5/3/24)...was 2 for 5 with a double, homer and three RBI at Concordia-St. Paul (4/13/24)...received NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence honors and earned the NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic With Distinction Award...also voted College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

2023:  One of only two players to start all 51 games (shortstop), batting .341 with 13 doubles, two triples, one home run and 33 RBIs...had team-high 98 assists, tied for team lead in doubles and ranked third in runs scored (43), hits (59) and RBIs (33)...had 17 multi-hit games...was 4 for 6 with triple and four RBI in 12-9 victory over University of Mary (3/30/23)...had another four RBI game vs. Bemidji State (4/7/23), going 2 for 4 with a double...went 6 for 11 in Minnesota Crookston series (March 19-20) with home run and double...was 3 for 5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in 22-2 win over Minnesota Duluth (4/4/23)...also went for 3 for 5 with two runs scored in 12-5 win at Upper Iowa.

Before Wayne State:  Played two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College...posted .263 batting average in 47 games in 2022 with four homers, 20 RBI and 33 runs scored...named Academic All-American...as a freshman in 2021 had .255 average with five doubles, one home run and 12 RBI with 27 runs scored while helping team win Region IX title.

High School:  Graduate of Big Horn High School in Wyoming...three year starter in football, basketball and baseball...earned All-State honors in all three sports...senior year in high school hit .304 with 40 RBI and had 2.27 ERA on the mound pitching 74 innings.

Personal:  Son of Mike McCafferty and Eileen McCafferty...born September 27, 2001...majoring in mental health counseling.
